Holistic Productivity and the Sacred Ground of You

Oct 18, 2025

There was a time when I treated productivity like a race. I stacked my calendar, color coded every block and drank my weight in lattes. I thought more boxes checked meant a better business. It worked until it didn’t. I was creating, but I was not alive in my life. My body kept whispering, then it started to shout. Headaches, tight shoulders, zero creativity by noon.

One morning I closed the laptop and asked a truer question. If I am the sacred ground of my business, how do I want to be tended?

The answer arrived in small, loving practices. I begin with breath and warm tea before any screen. I ask my body, what would feel nourishing to do first. Some days the answer is a focused writing sprint. Other days it is a walk in the garden or a quiet check in with my journal. I now work in cycles. Ninety minutes on, fifteen minutes to reset. Phone out of the room. Lunch away from the keyboard. A midday pause to stretch and sip water. These tiny rituals keep me present and surprisingly prolific.

I also redesigned my week. One CEO morning for money and metrics. Two client days where presence is my priority. One creator day for deep work and no meetings. One spacious afternoon for rest or movement. I give myself a real sabbath where the laptop stays closed and my soul gets to breathe. I protect the white space in my calendar like a queen protects her crown. When I honor those boundaries, my ideas arrive brighter and my results are stronger.

I used to see rest as a reward for output. Now I understand rest is the root that feeds it. Recuperation and rejuvenation are not a side dish. They are as vital as the sprints, the launches, and the way we show up for our clients. When I am alive in my life, I am magnetic in my business. When I care for the ground of me, everything I plant grows.

This is what holistic productivity means to me. Alignment before action. Energy before effort. A rhythm that feels human and still moves the needle in meaningful ways. It is not lazy. It is leadership. The kind that is clear, kind, and sustainable.

If you feel called to create this kind of rhythm for yourself, come sit with me in October’s Power Circle.
